This demonstration site provides examples to assist you in getting the most out of your OnePlaceMail implementation.
OnePlaceMail works with your existing SharePoint environment. This demonstration site is based on the standard Team Site template with simple customisations made directly through the SharePoint user interface.
Example Email Library
This library is based on the 'OnePlaceMail Email Library' that is installed with OnePlaceMail. You can now create OnePlaceMail Email Libraries on any site just as easily as you create standard SharePoint document libraries. OnePlaceMail Email Libraries are the perfect place to store email transferred from Outlook with OnePlaceMail. These libraries contain a series of views that allow you see, sort, categorise, and search by email properties such as Subject, From, Date, Conversation, Category and more. In this demonstration site an additional column has been added so that when email is transferred it can be associated with a task from the standard Task List. The 'By Task' view within the Example Email Library allows you to see all email by task.
Example Email Library (Minimal)
This library is based on the 'OnePlaceMail Email Library'. By default the presentation of the library when viewing from Outlook includes all of the SharePoint navigation. OnePlaceMail allows you to setup a OnePlaceMail Email Library to operate in 'Minimal' mode when viewing from Outlook. The minimal mode removes all of the SharePoint navigation elements and just shows the library contents when opened from Outlook.
Example Document Library
This library is based on the standard SharePoint document library. Additional columns (of different types such as text, number, choice, date/time) have been added. Using OnePlaceMail to transfer email or attachments into this library will demonstrate that OnePlaceMail prompts for the additional columns at the point of transfer and supports all the standard column types and enforces validation as configured in the SharePoint library. A simple document library such as this, configured with columns specific to your needs, is a great repository for storing files that need to be shared (possibly replacing files currently residing on network drives).
OnePlaceMail extends the standard Windows right-click SendTo menu to allow you to easily transfer files from your computer or network into SharePoint. You can select one or more files in Windows Explorer, right-click and SendTo SharePoint, OnePlaceMail will allow you to select the destination SharePoint library and prompt for any columns applicable for the destination library.
Example Picture Library
This library is based on the standard SharePoint picture library with the addition of an Event column (lookup to the Calendar) which allows you to associate pictures to an event. The default view has been grouped by Event.
You can use the OnePlaceMail right-click SendTo SharePoint functionality to send image files directly from your computer (or camera) into this library and associate to an event at the point of filing.
Calendar
This is a standard SharePoint Calendar with no customisations. OnePlaceMail allows you to transfer email and attachments/files directly into calendar entries. Suppose you have just received an email and your team is to act on that email in 2 weeks time. Using OnePlaceMail, you can simply drag and drop the email to the SharePoint calendar. OnePlaceMail will prompt you for the date, time, location (all the standard calendar event columns) and the email will be uploaded as an attachment to the calendar entry in SharePoint.
Knowledge List
This list is based on a generic list allowing knowledge to be captured and shared. Content may be in the form of attachments or text entered into the notes column. OnePlaceMail can be used to create knowledge items in this list by drag/drop of email and/or attachments from Outlook, or by selecting files in Windows Explorer and using the right-click SendTo SharePoint feature of OnePlaceMail.
